Flu report shows average school absenteeism rate up

LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT) - A weekly flu report from the Arkansas Department of Health shows an increase in positive flu tests across the state.

Since Sept. 30 of this year, over 900 positive flu tests have been reported, the majority coming from counties that include Craighead, Poinsett, Sharp, and White.

The average school absenteeism rate is now up to 6.7%.

According to the Health Department, there have been 3 flu related deaths reported in the state so far this flu season.
