JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Expect a few delays driving to and from Memphis in the coming days.

The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) reported Wednesday road work on an Interstate 40 ramp and deck maintenance on the I-55 Mississippi River bridge will require lane closures.

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, ArDOT will alternate closing the southbound lanes of the I-55 bridge. The work will begin on Monday, Nov. 26, and last approximately three weeks.

Meanwhile, slope repair operations will require crews to shut down the I-40 on-ramp from Mound City Road (Exit 281) from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, Nov. 27-29. According to ArDOT, crews will be removing material from a previous incident.

ArDOT urges motorists to use caution when driving through the work zones, which will be marked with signs and traffic barrels.
