JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Sheriff’s deputies in two counties are investigating multiple break-ins at area restaurants and businesses.
Lawrence County sheriff’s dispatch didn’t release many details. However, they did say someone broke into the Don’s Steakhouse in Walnut Ridge and the Subway in Hoxie.
The Subway restaurant in Pocahontas was also burglarized, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
Crooks also broke into the Tool Central in Pocahontas. The manager said the burglars made off with approximately $5,000 worth of merchandise, including a took kit valued at $3,000.
Walnut Ridge Police Chief Jordan Cooksey told Region 8 News that WRPD, Hoxie Police and the Randilph County Sheriff’s Office are all working together to find out if the break-ins could be connected.
“We’re not completely certain that they’re related, although timeline would indicate that they could be related.” said Cooksey.
Cooksey also mentioned the proximity between the break-ins as a reason to believe they are connected.
The break-ins are still pending investigation, so details are still limited.
Law enforcement is asking the public to keep an eye out while they work to learn more.
“If the business owners or homeowners have cameras, if they can review their cameras and make sure there’s nothing suspicious going on. If they are, give us a call.” said Cooksey.
Anyone with information on any of these burglaries should contact either the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office at 870-886-2525 or the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office at 870-892-8888.
