CAVE CITY, AR (KAIT) - A historic building was torn down in Cave City to allow new development.
Considered an important staple in the community, the building was also known as the “Pool Hall” and built in the 1940’s.
Mayor of Cave City Jonas Anderson said they purchased the property from the Green family to work towards building a new community center and city hall.
“With that property being right behind us," Anderson said. "It was logical to expand there.”
Anderson said they saved some of the original sandstone to put into the building once they begin construction.
So what’s next?
Anderson said they are talking with architects and planning to build a community center and city hall.
No definite plans or timeline has been set at this time.
