Randolph County sheriff-elect has new plans for department

RANDOLPH COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -The four-way race for county sheriff went to a runoff this week, but 18 year Arkansas State Police veteran Kevin Bell won the runoff by over 900 votes.

Bell, who won the runoff Tuesday, already has plans for change to the sheriff’s department when he takes office Jan. 1.

“One of the things that I think we need initially is a different training program for the deputies," Bell said. "And an aggressive drug enforcement program for the county.”

Bell will be tasked with the enforcement of the new Randolph County liquor laws and residual effects of them.

Bell is confident that he and his department will be prepared for the task.
