MARMADUKE, AR (KAIT) -Seventeen-year-old Kay-Lyn Rankin got a surprise of a lifetime, finding out her wish of going New York City would be a reality.
It happened at the Marmaduke Community Center during their 5th annual auction and dinner supporting the Ag for Autism and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Kevin Rankin, Kay-Lyn’s dad, said that the year has been a trying time for their family.
“Been a big trial, lot of ups and downs," Rankin said. "She’s been in the hospital a lot. We’ve had to worry about her. This is a bright thing in her year.”
Kay-Lyn was diagnosed with autism early on in life.
But, this year, she’s been battling leukemia. She’s been in the hospital for the majority of the year.
But when she gets to New York City, the first thing on her schedule is seeing “Frozen on Ice.”
