Nevada head coach on A-State: “They have tremendous athletes.”

Nevada talks Red Wolves, Arkansas State gets 3 commitments Tuesday

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - 7-5 Nevada is similar to 8-4 Arkansas State. It has the makings of a shootout in the Arizona Bowl.

Ty Gangi runs a high powered offense to the tune of 3131 passing yards and 26 total scores. Malik Reed is like Ronheen Bingham: 15.5 tackles for a loss and 8 sacks. Head coach Jay Norvell thinks it’ll be a interesting tilt in Tucson.

"Our seniors want to go out with a bang, Norvell said. "It’s a culmination of their great careers. They’re going to play a great opponent. Arkansas State has been a really good program. They have tremendous athletes, they got good receivers, they got a good quarterback. They’re dynamic offensively, so we’re going to have a challenge. That’s what you want. You want challenges, and you want to play a quality team, and I think it’ll be a great game to watch."

Athlon Sports picked Arkansas State to win the Arizona Bowl. The publication ranked the matchup #25 in their ranking of Must Watch to Must Miss bowl games.

The Red Wolves and Wolfpack will play Saturday, December 29th. Kickoff is at 12:15pm, the game will be televised on the CBS Sports Network.
