JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A daughter is reaching out for financial help this holiday season.
It's not for Christmas presents but for funeral arrangements.
"I'm not asking for everyone to pay everything for me, just for a little bit of help," Gillian Haley said.
Gillian Haley, who is 18, grew up quickly after her mother passed away unexpectedly nearly two months ago.
It left Haley and her two younger brothers, Jacob Haley and Alex Jones, to plan their mother's funeral and foot the bill.
Haley and her boyfriend, Kyle Griffin, live on their own. They said just rent and groceries eat up most of their paycheck.
So, they started a GoFundMe account with a goal of $3,000.
Its purpose is to afford an urn, burial plot, a nice headstone, and to continue paying off the funeral home bill.
"It's really important to me because I want to be able to do her right," Haley said. "She wasn't around very much when I was a kid, but she deserves it just because she was my mom."
Haley is overwhelmed with the support she's received so far.
Her GoFundMe account hit $245 with donations from just five people in a month.
She knows she may not raise enough to cover everything, but she's just looking for a little bit of help, especially during the holidays.
