JONESBORO, AR (KAIT/KARK) - Two law enforcement officers in Region 8 have applied for the Little Rock police chief position.
According to KARK, 56 people applied for the job, 13 of those come from within Arkansas.
Chadwick Henson, who currently serves as Trumann's police chief, is one of those applicants.
A man shot Chief Henson in August, but he survived the shooting and returned fire, killing the man.
A month later, the Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police named Henson the Chief of the Year.
The other candidate comes from White County.
When Steven Taylor applied, he served as the assistant police chief at the Searcy Police Department.
Taylor, who has 28 years of experience, took over the department after the chief resigned in November.
City officials said the hiring process could take 90 days.
