Man arrested in domestic battery against pregnant female
Eddie Austin of Jonesboro was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery-3rd degree-against pregnant female after Jonesboro police went to the 2200 block of Sutton Street Jan. 9.

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A woman who is four and a half months pregnant told police that a man assaulted her when he was asked to get out of a vehicle earlier this week, Jonesboro police said.

Eddie Austin of Jonesboro was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery-3rd degree-against pregnant female after Jonesboro police went to the 2200 block of Sutton Street Jan. 9.

Officers spoke to the victim, who told police she and Austin got into a verbal altercation.

“She and Eddie Bean got into a verbal altercation when Austin was asked to get out of the vehicle and get their son because she was 4 ½ months pregnant and did not want to get out of the vehicle,” the affidavit noted.

The victim told police that Austin was intoxicated and that was when he got mad and hit her, police said.

A $50,000 bond was set in the case for Austin, who will be in court Feb. 22.
