AUGUSTA, AR (KAIT) - A Woodruff County man is set to appear in court after authorities say he sent sexually graphic messages to someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

However, authorities said it was a three-month investigation by the First Judicial District Task Force into alleged online child predators.

According to a post on the DTF Facebook page, Leslie Pruitt of Augusta was arrested Jan. 12 on suspicion of internet stalking of a child in connection with the case.

Authorities alleged Pruitt discussed several times meeting up with the 14-year-old for sex and wanted to try to hide the relationship.

“On Thursday, Pruitt asked that she create another profile as a boy so he could still message her without his girlfriend finding out,” the post from DTF noted.

Pruitt, who is on active supervision with the Arkansas Department of Community Correction, reportedly told investigators that he had been messaging the profile, police said.

Pruitt is being held without bond and will appear in court Jan. 14.
