The Arkansas Pie Festival will be held April 20 in Cherokee Village, according to a post on the Spring River Innovation Hub Facebook page.

CHEROKEE VILLAGE, AR (KAIT) - Whether you are a fan of pecan, peach or apple pie, Cherokee Village may be the place this spring as the town hosts the Arkansas Pie Festival.

According to a post on the Spring River Innovation Hub Facebook page, the event on April 20 will be Arkansas’ first statewide pie festival.

“Pie is one of the most beloved Southern foods. It is connected to some of our most nostalgic memories of home, family, holidays and these special moments around the kitchen table,” the post noted. “Simply put, who doesn’t love pie?”

The festival will feature a competition among 20 professional pie makers in the state, with judges and the public deciding on the winner.

There will also be pies from amateur and student bakers on display, as well as live entertainment, food trucks and shopping, officials said.

Tickets go on sale for the event in late-February and people can learn more about the festival by visiting the festival’s website.
