Downtown Jonesboro BBQ and Music Fest up for an award

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Downtown Jonesboro BBQ and Music Fest is one of three finalists for the 2018 Festival/Event of the Year award by the Arkansas Delta Byways.

According to a news release from Jonesboro Director of Communications Bill Campbell, the award will be presented Delta Byways banquet on Feb. 15 in Stuttgart.

The festival was a vision of Mayor Harold Perrin for an annual celebration in Jonesboro.

“It’s one thing to want it; it’s another thing entirely for a community of volunteers to make it come true,” Perrin said. “It has taken a lot of people who care about Jonesboro to grow this festival into something so special.”

Other finalists for the award are Helena’s King Biscuit Blues Festival and Stuttgart’s World Champion Duck Calling Contest.

This year’s Downtown Jonesboro BBQ and Music Fest will take place Sept. 27-28.

Acts for this year have not yet been selected.
