BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) - The Batesville School District will be closed Friday due to illness as school officials work to help clean up buildings, according to Superintendent Dr. Michael Hester.
Hester said in a statement Thursday that all schools including the district’s preschool will be closed Feb. 8 due to excessive illness among students and faculty.
“We will be disinfecting all buildings tomorrow and this weekend, please help us out with this and do not send students to school who are still showing symptoms of illness,” Hester said.
However, all school activities after school and this weekend will continue as planned.
School officials also ask parents to check the district’s website to see their student’s Alternative Method of Instruction assignment.
Also, the Piggott School District announced late Thursday that they will be closed Feb. 8 due to continued illness.
The district announced on its Facebook page that students will complete AMI Day 5 and that classes will resume Monday, Feb. 11.
The Portageville School District also announced this week that they would be closed Feb. 8 due to illness.
School is scheduled to resume Feb. 11, according to a post on the school’s Facebook page.
