POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KAIT) - Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff announced Tuesday it will team up with Central Methodist University to offer a new four-year agribusiness degree beginning this fall.
In addition to the degree program, the school will implement a four-year rodeo team.
Students will complete coursework through TRC for three years, according to a news release from the college, to earn an associate of applied science in agribusiness as well as an associate of arts in agriculture before beginning their fourth year at CMU.
“The idea really started with the students,” said Dr. Wesley Payne, president of TRC.
“Central Methodist and Three Rivers are wonderful partners,” said Dr. Rita Gulstad, provost of CMU. “The opportunity to collaborate with Three Rivers on rodeo was another great example of how, together Three Rivers and CMU help young people succeed in the world and realize their dreams.”
The TRC and CMU rodeo teams will compete in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, Ozark Region.
