Separate crashes send two to hospital

DUNKLIN COUNTY, MO (KAIT) - Two people were seriously injured in separate crashes Tuesday in Dunklin County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The first crash happened at 11:15 a.m. on County Road 229, two miles north of Campbell.

Ronald L. Fowler, 24, of Clarkton was northbound when his 2006 Freightliner struck a 2008 Dodge pickup truck driven by 38-year-old Terry G. Robards of Campbell in the rear.

Fowler, according to the MSHP crash report, suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

The second crash occurred 45 minutes later at noon on State Highway NN, two miles south of Gobler.

A 2010 Nissan Versa driven by Savannah F. Fennell, 20, of Steele ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned.

Fennell, who was not wearing a seat belt according to the crash report, was taken by ambulance to West Tennessee Health Care in Dyersburg with unspecified serious injuries.
