JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A man is being held on a $25,000 bond after he reportedly admitted stealing a trailer and a riding lawn mower.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Aaron Cooper was arrested on suspicion of theft $5,000 or less but greater than $1,000, which is a felony.
The affidavit states that on Feb. 10, Jonesboro police received two separate theft complaints.
The first complaint involved a 12′ flatbed trailer that was stolen from the 1100-block of Rains Street, while the second theft was a Craftsman riding lawn mower stolen from the carport of a house on Richmond Drive, police said.
The complainant at Richmond Drive had a security camera that captured a white male suspect dressed in a large overcoat drive by the house very slowly.
The same truck was seen later returning pulling a trailer, police said.
On Feb. 12, an officer with the Street Crimes Unit advised that he was out on a traffic stop with the suspect from the thefts.
During an interview at the police station, Cooper admitted stealing a trailer and the lawn mower, police said.
Cooper said he had sold the trailer to someone on Allis Street and dropped the mower off at another location on Olive Street.
The affidavit noted all property was recovered, undamaged and was returned to its owners.
Cooper is set to be in court on March 22 at 8:30 a.m.
