Jonesboro man faces rape charge

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A Jonesboro man is accused of raping a minor.

According to a probable cause affidavit, on Jan. 18 a Jonesboro police officer responded to a complaint involving woman’s 10-year-old daughter.

According to the report, the juvenile she said Timothy Edward Penley touched her sexually under her clothing.

The affidavit further stated that when the officer interviewed Penley at a later date, he admitted to touching her sexually.

Penley appeared in court before Judge David Boling on Feb. 19.

He faces a charge of rape/sexual intercourse with a person less that 14-years-old.

A no contact order was issued by Judge Boling. Penley’s bond was set at $250,000.

His next court date is March 22 at the Craighead County Courthouse.
