BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT/KARK) - A Region 8 veterinarian is concerned about pets being sold at a local pet store.

Dr. Donna Cook says after treating animals purchased at The Complete Pet East in Batesville, she’s worried the animals could have diseases.

Dr. Cook says someone brought a recently purchased puppy to her that had ear mites and internal parasites.

Charles Matlock is the owner of Complete Pet East.

He says the store offers a return policy.

Matlock went on to say that the animals are being cared for.

Dr. Cook believes the state should investigate.

She says she doesn’t want to put the store out of business, she only wants the store to take care of the animals.
