WASHINGTON, D.C. (GRAY) - Governor Asa Hutchinson is representing Arkansas at the 2019 National Governors Association Winter Meeting this weekend.
In the non-partisan event, governors speak on panels and take part in closed door meetings.
Topics being discussed include child welfare, resiliency against disaster, education reform, entrepreneurship, and more.
Governor Hutchinson spoke specifically about Arkansas.
“Whenever you look at the issues we face, first of all it’s infrastructure and we have a new highway bill we’re trying to pass in Arkansas that will give us more money for our road funding,” Governor Hutchinson said.
Governors are also meeting with adminstration officials while in Washington to discuss local priorities that might require executive assistance.
