JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -The Jonesboro Fire Department responded to a house fire Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Bradley and Cartwright Streets.

According to Brett Winstead with the fire department, there were a number of issues they dealt with when they first arrived on scene.

“Upon arrival we had heavy fire,” Winstead said. “We also had three cars burning and the fence. We had some exposure problems. The first engine made a quick attack and got it pretty good and knocked down. We had to pull a second line to completely get it under control.”

Winstead said no one was in the structure when the fire started.

“The house was abandoned and under construction,” Winstead said. “There was electricity to it. We have the Fire Marshall coming out to look at it because it was unoccupied.”

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is not known.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
