LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Even without Phillip Butterfield, Lake Hamilton looks ready to contend again for the Class 6A title.
The Wolves, who won the state championship last year, beat Watson Chapel 38-35 last week to improve to 6-1 on the season. In fact, Lake Hamilton's only loss was to Texarkana, Texas. The Wolves haven't lost to an in-state team since a 73-66 defeat by Pine Bluff last Oct. 10.
Butterfield, a member of last season's AP Super Team, signed with Arkansas State after finishing his Lake Hamilton career. He was 1 of the state's top quarterbacks, but senior Benson Jordan has stepped in and played fine.
