
MINER, Mo. (KFVS) - A routine traffic stop Wednesday night in Miner leads to five arrests in two counties.
According to Police Chief Roger Moore, an officer stopped a vehicle he saw a vehicle without any license plates.
Chief Moore says the driver was arrested for not having a license, but then the officer also found he had illegal drugs. The officer then searched the vehicle and found what police call precursors for making meth.
The officer arrested all three people in the vehicle. They each now face three drug charges.
Information gathered from these arrests led police to Sikeston. This is where investigators busted two more people in a hotel room with a meth lab. There were also two children, a toddler and infant, in the room. Both of these people were arrested and charged with making meth, possession of meth and child endangerment.
Chief Moore says the children have been placed in the custody of the Department of Family Services.
According to police Jennifer M. Turner of Anna, IL is charged with attempting to manufacture meth, possession of marijuana, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Phillip E. Bailey Jr. of Campbell, MO is also charged with attempting to manufacture meth, possession of marijuana, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Lisa M. Redden of Clarkton, MO is charged with possession of marijuana.
Ashley N. Turner of Clarkton, MO is charged with possession of marijuana.
Scott D. Richey of Kennett, MO is charged with possession of meth making materials, possession of marijuana, attempting to manufacture meth, and two charges of endangering the welfare of a child.
All five are behind bars.
"It was great teamwork by all departments," Chief Moore said about the action of his officers and the other agencies involved.
