LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Little Rock Christian senior Michael Dyer has surpassed Arkansas' old record for career yardage.
Dyer entered Friday night's game with Hot Springs Lakeside needing 31 yards to pass the previous record-holder. In his first three carries of the game, he accumulated 14 yards.
Then, on his fourth carry, Dyer went 22 yards for a touchdown that gave Little Rock Christian the first lead of the game, 6-0.
The previous record, 7,122 yards, was set by Vernon Hicks of Elaine.
Dyer is a 2-time member of The Associated Press Arkansas Super Team.
