Homeless Texarkana man facing bestiality charge

Posted:

TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - A homeless man in Texarkana has rejected a plea agreement to a bestiality charge and says he's not guilty.

57-year-old Harry Johnson is accused of sexual misconduct with a horse and fleeing.

He was offered a 60-day jail term with credit for the 53 days already served in exchange for a no contest plea. But he told Miller County District Judge Wren Autrey that he is "not guilty of that engagement."

He faces up to a year in jail if convicted and city prosecutor Tommy Potter says he'll ask for the maximum if Johnson is found guilty.
