POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) - The Pocahontas Police Department arrested 8 people in a meth related raid.
Pocahontas Police say the 8 people are charged with possession with intent to manufacture, and unlawful distribution of Pseudoephedrine pills. The charges are a Class D Felony.
Police say the arrests stem from an ongoing investigation.
The people arrested are: Melanie Deloache, Christopher Simpson, Teresa Tribble, Angela Murphy, Sherry Baltz, Michael Burgess, Lowell Lawson, and Sarah Pratt.
Police also say this is a classic example of people buying over the counter pills such as Claritin and Sudafed and then re-selling the pills to others who use them to make meth.
Pocahontas Police say the goal of their investigation is to reduce or dramatically slow down the supply of pseudoephedrine pills to people making meth, which in turn may slow down the amount of meth on the streets in the community.
Police say more arrests are possible.
