JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A non-stop Southern Gospel Jubilee held Saturday night in Jonesboro kicked off with the Jonesboro Fire Department honor guard pipe and drum band.
12 different singing groups and a Christian comedian joined the band in the first ever jubilee at the ASU Convocation Center.
Organizers say this is a way to bring this type of performance back to Region 8 and gives them the opportunity to sing God's praises.
"Wwe've gotten 12 groups that have volunteered their time to give to the Lord back through music," said Coordinator of the Southern Gospel Jubilee Lisa Hathcoat.
Groups from different parts of Region 8, Mississippi, and Tennessee came together to perform.
