JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Caring for people in their final moments on earth is the goal of a new hospice home from St. Bernards named after a famous hospice pioneer from the area.
The Flo & Phil Jones Hospice Home opened its doors to the community Saturday, November 15. Hundreds attended the opening, including donors, employees and the media.
The facility will provide end-of-life service to those in need, but will also provided respite care and other services.
St. Bernards Hospice Service Director Tammy Hawkins tells Region 8 News, "W
e want it to be home like and it needs to be very soothing. It does need to be a sanctuary, a place where people can come and relax and feel cared for and honestly, we've spared no expense."
It is expected to begin service in a few weeks. The facility is located at 1148 East Matthews in Jonesboro.
