Supporters plan march for woman's justice

Posted:

Memphis, TN (WMC)-Supporters in Memphis, TN are fighting for the rights of a Missouri woman facing jail time for cutting in line at a Walmart in Kennett, MO nearly three years ago.

Heather Ellis, 24,  faces up to 15 years after an arguement where investigators say she assaulted a police officer.  Supporters say it is a classic case of racism while others say she was out of control.  Members of the Souther Christian Leadership Conference  will leave from the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis Monday morning to travel to Kennett to march for the justice of Heather.

The march will begin at the walmart and end at the courthouse at 11 a.m.

Ellis is due in court Wednesday, November 18th.
