Heather Ellis accepts plea bargain

Posted: Updated:

KENNETT, MO (KAIT) - A plea bargain has been accepted by Heather Ellis.

Ellis agreed to plead guilty to disturbing the peace and resisting arrest, and in doing so, prosecutors have agreed to drop the assault charges.

Prosecutors say that Ellis became belligerent when another customer confronted her for cutting in line at the Kennett Wal-Mart in January 2007.

When police arrived at the scene they said Ellis used obscene language, kicked, and bit officers as they led her out of the store.

Under the deal that Ellis has accepted, she must serve one year of unsupervised probation, take anger management classes, and serve four days in the Dunklin County Jail sometime this year at her convenience.

Further details will later be released, such as, when Ellis will begin her probation and when she'll choose to go to jail.
