BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - A three car accident including a police car and school bus provides for an early morning scare for some parents.

It happened just before 8 a.m. when a Blytheville police officer was responding to a disturbance at the Blytheville High School, according to the news release. The officer was moving through the intersection of East Main and Ruddle Road with his lights and siren activated, as the report describes, when he hit a north bound pickup truck.

The truck spun into a Blytheville School District bus which was stopped at the intersection. No children were on the bus.

Minor injuries were reported from the accident.

The incident is currently being investigated by Arkansas State Police. The officer involved has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.

The incident the officer was responding to at the Blytheville High School was in reference to students fighting. Four were taken into custody without incident after the fight was broken-up.
