CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - A felon who police say shot himself to death after fatally beating his pregnant wife also raped a 15-year-old girl the same day. A Hamilton County Sheriff's Office affidavit says 34-year-old Terry lee Releford duct taped the teen and held a gun on her while assaulting her.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - State and local veterans affairs officials are hosting a one-stop clinic for Robertson County and Cheatham County military veterans tomorrow. Representatives from more than 40 federal, state and local agencies will be present to offer claims guidance, health and wellness resources, educational programs as well as housing and jobs information.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Federal officials have set aside more than $1 million for Tennessee landowners who help conserve wildlife. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency says owners of agricultural and forest land may apply by June 10 for funding under the Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against the Metro Nashville Board of Education brought by a charter school that was ordered to be closed because of poor student performance.

The Metro School Board voted in November to shut down Smithson Craighead Middle School because the charter school ranked among the worst academic performers in the state and was losing enrollment.
