JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) - The remains of a World War II soldier from eastern Tennessee have been found in France. WBIR-TV in Knoxville reported that hikers found a makeshift grave marked with the initial 'H.' DNA testing confirmed it was Army Pfc. Cecil Edwin Harris of Johnson City. He will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) - A mistrial has been declared in a vehicular homicide trial in eastern Tennessee after a juror drove the route involved in the case and told others about it. The Johnson City Press reported that Criminal Court Judge Stacy Street made the announcement after questioning the juror who disobeyed a court order.
JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) - A judge has ordered a mental exam for a Tennessee man charged with killing his father. The Jackson Sun reported that the attorney for 29-year-old Clayton Nelson requested the evaluation Thursday. Clayton Nelson was charged with beating and stabbing 57-year-old Jeffrey Nelson to death.
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a missing Tennessee child and her mother have been found in Arizona and the child has been reunited with her father. The U.S. Marshals Service says 24-year-old Erin Street and her 5-year-old daughter were located in a Flagstaff women's shelter on Wednesday.
