LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A large section of the Midwest and South are at risk for strong tornadoes, severe thunderstorms and flash flooding this weekend. The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., advises residents to be alert and be sure that they can receive weather warnings.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Emails obtained by WTVF-TV indicate that as recently as two weeks before a union election, Volkswagen was still working on a draft memo of understanding on Tennessee incentives to expand a Chattanooga plant. But the incentives offer was withdrawn. Now that the union has withdrawn its appeal of a worker vote against unionizing, Gov. Haslam says he hopes to renew negotiations on the incentives

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Memphis police say a 7-year-old girl called 911 after waking up to find her parents had been shot. The girl told the operator that she couldn't wake up her parents yesterday. Family members have identified the couple as James and Danielle Alexander.

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Officials say it's likely that the remains of a 5-year-old Indiana boy presumed dead following a fire at a rental cabin in Sevierville have been completely incinerated. The fire broke out April 12 at a cabin where 22 people from Kentucky and Indiana were staying.
