HOOVER, Ala. (AP) - Tyler Moore and Ty Ross had run-scoring hits with two outs in the ninth to lead LSU to a 3-2 victory over Alabama Friday in a Southeastern Conference tournament elimination game.

The Tigers (50-9) face Arkansas in the semifinals on Saturday.

They got three straight two-out hits to take the lead in the final inning. Christian Ibarra singled and pinch-runner Jared Foster scored on Moore's double. Reliever Jay Shaw replaced Mike Oczypok and gave up Ross's RBI single.

RANGERS-MARINERS

Berkman, Baker power Texas past Seattle 9-5

SEATTLE (AP) - Jeff Baker hit a two-run homer and Lance Berkman added a three-run shot, both off Seattle starter Joe Saunders, and the Texas Rangers beat the Mariners 9-5 on Friday night.

Baker's shot in the second inning gave the Rangers the lead, but it was Berkman's fourth homer of the season into the left-field seats that broke the game open in the third and sent Saunders to his first career loss at Safeco Field. It was the first homer for Baker since May 10 and first for Berkman since May 11.

Saunders (3-5) entered the night 9-0 at Safeco Field, including a 3-0 mark with a 0.94 ERA this season. But Saunders gave up six earned runs and eight hits in just five innings and the Mariners lost their seventh straight.

Allen played at Oklahoma State in college, and he said Friday seeing the damage from Monday's tornado that devastated Moore, Okla., hurt him. He says he encourages everybody to do what they can and hopes they can come up with something big Saturday.

COWBOYS-BRENT

Judge orders more monitoring for Cowboys DT

DALLAS (AP) - A judge has ordered more alcohol monitoring for a Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle awaiting trial on an intoxicated manslaughter charge.

Josh Brent is charged in the Dec. 8 crash that killed Jerry Brown Jr., a Cowboys' practice squad player. Police say Brent's blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit.

Brent appeared in court Friday for a hearing. He's been free on $100,000 bond, but prosecutors say he violated the terms of his release by setting off an alcohol monitoring device and failing to download data from it as required.

Judge Robert Burns said Friday that he would not raise Brent's bond, but ordered the extra monitoring.

Brent's career remains on hold pending the outcome of the case. His trial date is scheduled for September on the intoxicated manslaughter charge.
