Candace Carpenter works as a multimedia journalist for KAIT. She is a graduate of Sheridan High School and University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Growing up, Candace spent many summers visiting her family in Poughkeepsie and is passionate about meeting new people and sharing the stories of communities in Northeast Arkansas. She graduated from University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Art degree in Applied Communication. During an internship course, Candace completed an internship with KATV Channel 7 and is now completing a Master’s degree in Mass Communication online. Prior to joining KAIT, Candace covered stories in Arkansas as a freelance journalist. Candace has competed in pageants over the years and placed 2RU in Mrs. Arkansas America sharing her platform, “Love Your Own Glow” as a skin cancer survivor. In addition to achieving a 200-hr yoga instructor certification, Candace enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, hiking, blogging, and walking her miniature schnauzer, “Leo”.
