A brow lift is a surgical procedure that raises the eyebrows to a more alert and youthful position. The surgery repositions sagging eyebrows that are hooding the upper eyelids, and frequently decreases the visibility of frown lines and creases of the forehead, bridge of the nose and between the eyebrows.
All 3 products (known collectively as neurotoxins or neuromodulators) are FDA approved prescription medications that are injected into muscles responsible for wrinkling of the overlying skin to relax them and achieve temporary improvement in appearance of those lines. They are very similar in mechanism of action, longevity of results, safety profile and cost.
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a procedure performed for a variety of reasons. Upper and lower eyelid surgery may be performed purely to improve appearance. Lower blepharoplasty is performed to address baggy eyelids and loose lower eyelid skin.
Fillers can also be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (in patient over age 18). In most patients, it is expected to last up to 6 months.
