    Remembering A Local Hall of Fame Boxer

    In the 1940s, Pete Mead, a boxer from Trumann, Arkansas fought four main events at Madison Square Garden, had a career record of 44-16. This month was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame.

    "Dad never really took anything that serious as far as all the accolades and all the things and the awards that he would've gotten and that he did get dad never really talked about them much," Pete's son Jeff Mead said.
