Jonesboro man found guilty of murdering wife

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A jury of his peers finds Demetricus Hampton guilty of murdering his wife. Now, Hampton will spend the next 40-years of his life in prison.

Prosecutors argued that Hampton choked his wife Misty to death at their North Jonesboro home last August. Defense attorney's argued that Hampton admitted to killing his wife, but that it was not intentional.

Circuit Judge John Fogelman sentenced Hampton to 30-years for the murder and an additional 10-years for violating probation.

Demetricus Hampton will be eligible for parole in 28-years.
