3 Die in Crash on Interstate 55 in Arkansas

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (AP) - Three people are dead after a truck crossed the median of Interstate 55 in Crittenden County and crashed head-on into a van during a rain storm early Saturday morning.

Arkansas State Police troopers say a pickup driven by Dwight Thomas, 35, of Blytheville crossed the median around 2:15 a.m. A car in the heading south clipped the pickup, causing the truck to smash into a van driven by Kenneth G. Shirley, 46, of Olive Branch, Miss.

Shirley died in the crash, as did Kenneth Jones, 32, of Osceola and Mikosa Butler, 31, of West Memphis, both passengers in the truck. Three people were injured in the crash.
