Big East Dominates Top Seeds

The Big East can stake a claim to the top basketball league in the country. Teams from the conference claimed 3 of the four top seeds in the NCAA tournament.

Louisville is the overall top seed in the tournament and heads up the Midwest Region. The Cardinals are joined by Connecticut which is No. 1 in the West and Pittsburgh, the top seed in the East. The ACC's North Carolina heads up the South region.

It's the first time three teams from the same conference were named No. 1 seeds.

Memphis brings a nation's-best 25-game winning streak into the tournament but had to settle for the second seed in the West. The Tigers are 31-3 but have often been downgraded for playing in a weak Conference USA.

Arizona makes it into the tournament for the 25th straight year. Many thought the Wildcats were in danger of missing the cut after being eliminated early in the Pac-10 tournament and finishing with a 19-13 record.
