MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The fourth-ranked Memphis Tigers grabbed a No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region of the NCAA tournament.
The Tigers (31-3) will face No. 15 seed Cal State Northridge on Thursday in Kansas City.
Memphis was hoping the nation's longest winning streak at 25 straight would help them land their third top seed in four years.
Instead the Tigers, who lost to Kansas in the championship game last season, were shut out from the top seeds even after winning the Conference USA tournament on Saturday by beating Tulsa on Saturday night.
