Mo. police use eye scan technology to find missing people

SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - New technology will help local police find missing people.
The Scott County Sheriffs Department is the first in Missouri to receive eye scanning equipment that will help officers find missing people.
Police take a digital photo of the eye and get an "eyeprint" which is similar to a thumb print because no two are alike.
That print is then entered into a national registry and can help police find a missing person.
Police can also use the technology to track sex offenders.
The $5000 equipment was included in the department's budget.
