WHITE HALL, Ark. (AP) - Life in the wild can be nasty, brutal and short. Life can be even worse for a deer in the city.
On Tuesday morning in White Hall, a vehicle struck a deer on U.S. 270. Assistant Police Chief Richard Wingard says the injured big doe then charged into the north side glass doors of a Big Red Travel Plaza, ran about 100 feet through a hallway and crashed through a second set of glass doors and was outside again.
The deer proceeded to run into traffic on Interstate 530, where it was hit by a southbound vehicle. Somehow, the deer ran across the median and was hit by a northbound truck. That proved to be enough for the deer, in Wingard's words, "to meet its maker."
No humans were injured.
