Red Wolves bowling seeded eighth

CANTON, Mi - The Arkansas State women's bowling team is seeded eighth in the 2009 NCAA Collegiate Women's Bowling Championships after Thursday's qualifying rounds at Super Bowl Lanes in Canton, Mich.

"We've got a large hill to climb," said ASU Head Coach Chris James.  "We didn't start the day well, but we finished well.  Overall, we rebounded after the break and scored very well in baker format which shows a very strong light for tomorrow since it will be baker best four-of-seven."

"Tomorrow is a new day," added James.  The Red Wolves will begin competition Friday at 9:00 a.m. against Nebraska.  Fans can watch the tournament live via webcast from www.ncaa.com.

Right now ASU is just behind Deleware State. ASU's score for Thursday was 7,598 to DSU's 7,729. Nebraska is in the over all lead with a total score of 8,335.
