Woman shot in leg near Breckenridge Apartment complex

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -- Jonesboro Police said Friday a woman was shot near the Breckenridge Apartment complex on Self Circle off of Melrose. The woman has been air lifted to an outside hospital after being shot in the right leg hitting the femoral artery. Her condition is unknown at this time.

Police responded to the scene at 9:03 pm to the disturbance. Upon arrival, police found a Caucasian woman with a gunshot wound and several pieces of small ammunition on the parking lot and road. Police also found several spent casings in nearby bushes next to the complex.

Jonesboro Police Detective Ernest Ward said several witnesses have been questioned but no suspects have been identified at this time.
