LAWRENCE COUNTY -- Authorities are confirming that the vibrations some of you felt were the result of a natural gas line explosion. The explosion occurred around 6:45 Sunday night and residents from across the region felt what they thought was an blast or an earthquake. Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies have confirmed that a natural gas line exploded around the clover bend area.

The pipeline is owned by Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America and is based in Houston, Texas. This gas company does not serve any customers in Northeast Arkansas so residents will still have service. It's an interstate gas transmission subsidiary of Kinder-Morgan Incorporated. They have more than 10 thousand miles of pipeline in their system. Arkansas is part of the gulf coast mainline receipt zone. The Arkansas line stretches from Texarkana to north of Pocahontas and originates south of Corpus Christi, Texas.
