PINE BLUFF, Ark. -- Construction of the Pine Bluff arsenal incinerator is complete. The incinerator will burn the arsenal's stockpile of chemical weapons. Weapons destruction was mandated by an international treaty and will take about eight years to complete. Trial burns are scheduled to begin next year. After the chemical weapons are destroyed, the 300 million dollar incinerator is supposed to be dismantled. The stockpile at Pine Bluff accounts for about 12 percent of the army's store of chemical weapons.
