Gerdeman named assistant coach at SEMO

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - New Southeast Missouri State coach Dickey Nutt has completed his staff with the hiring of Kyle Gerdeman as assistant coach.

Gerdeman is a 1998 graduate of Southeast who was head coach of Moberly Area Community College until his contract was not renewed after a 9-23 record last season. He was 43-50 in three seasons at Moberly.

Nutt is the longtime coach at Arkansas State hired in March to take over the Redhawks program facing possible NCAA sanctions. Southeast Missouri was 3-27 last season and winless in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Redhawks ended the season with 19 straight losses, the longest current losing streak in NCAA Division I.
