Daly optimistic while poised for return to tour

(AP) - John Daly remains optimistic about his future in golf. Daly is set to return to the PGA Tour next month after serving a six-month suspension for unbecoming conduct. The Dardanelle native says he will be around as long as he can "swing and breathe."

Since his first major championship 18 years ago, Daly has shot 80 or higher more than 50 times on the PGA tour. Only one year -- in 1996 -- did he go through an entire year without a round on the 80s.

Daly says he has to have confidence that he will play well -- and that he just doesn't think he's had that confidence consistently.

NORMAN, Oklahoma (AP) - New Collegiate Baseball rankings show that 2 of the four teams playing at the Norman regional this weekend are in the top 25. Arkansas swept Washington State early in the season and also beat Oklahoma a month ago.

The Razorbacks are the second seed in the regional. Oklahoma is the top seed.

According to Baseball America, Oklahoma is ranked ninth and Washington State is unranked.
