SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - Missouri State University has named Kyle Moats as its new athletics director to replace Bill Rowe, who is retiring at the end of June after 28 years at that position.
Moats currently is associate athletics director of national marketing at the University of Louisville. He starts at Missouri State on July 1.
Before going to Louisville, Moats was senior associate athletic director at Marquette University for two years. He also was an associate athletics director at the University of Kentucky for three years before that.
Moats is a native of Dixon, Ill., who graduated in 1988 from Southern Illinois-Edwardsville with a bachelor's degree in physical education. He received a master's degree in sports management from Kentucky in 2001.
