Arkansas backup lineman arrested for theft

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas backup defensive lineman Lavunce Askew has been arrested for allegedly stealing a laptop computer and has been indefinitely suspended from the team.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported Monday that Askew was charged Saturday with theft. Police say the laptop is valued at $1,300 and was taken from a Fayetteville residence. A police report says Askew acknowledged taking the computer.

Razorbacks spokesman Kevin Trainor confirmed that Askew, a sophomore from Camden Fairview, is suspended.

Three other Razorbacks have faced charges this year. Quarterback Ryan Mallett was cited for public intoxication. Linebacker Ryan Powers was charged with shoplifting, and linebacker Khiry Battle was cited for failure to appear.
